Men's Basketball Vs. Utah (part 2)

Ok, here's the rest of the basketball info. Mike and I went to wait in line starting at 1pm (and the game was at 7). As people got off work/finished their obligations they showed up. Sarah was first to show up. She wins the prize. Mike and I played 8 games of mancala and 8 games of blink (a super fun, fast card game that you should try). Also played: 3 rounds of bananagrams, 2 hands of scum, lots of bop-it, and some catch phrase. As the time got closer and closer I got more and more hyper and excited. Finally, it was 5:30 and time to go in.

I knew it was going to happen, but as the entering time started I began getting really pissed off. People cut all the way to the beginning of the line and ruined my life. I was so hyper and excited and mad that I yelled a few unkind things at people. When we went inside we got some decent seats at the half court mark in the uppermost part of the lower bowl. Eventually the game started and it was an amazing start with huge white sheets and projectors and darkness and amazingness.

Even though BYU is clearly the better basketball team this year by far, the energy for the Holy War is completely different and tense. There were a few beautiful plays and few nasty ones. Including some punk Utah freshman (Marshall Henderson) punching Jackson Emery in the face. It was a great reason to chant "You are classless" also we got to use "Just like football" which is my favorite of all time. I love when we kick Utah's trash. It makes me so happy. Oh, and their coach was totally bogus and was all over the court (clearly visible in the video linked above). He did go check on Jackson after his player punched him, though.

Afterwards about 13 of us went to Training Table to get some good, cheap food. We are all about the good cheap food. I was sitting so I could see the door and just started smacking Sarah's hand and hyperventilating a little bit. Who had just walked in? Jackson Emery and family! Several of us nearly died. Me from a heart attack. On the way out we stopped and congratulated him on a fantastic game. It was amazing. I spazzed out a little in the car because sometimes I need to do that. Overall, successful and awesome night/day.

Here are our sweet shirts that cost 3 bucks apiece (thanks to Scott for loaning cash to the lot of us).

BYU vs. Utah (Men's Basketball Addition)

The Utes really are classless. I'll post about the game tomorrow. For now, watch this video. The first minute or so will let you see what you need.

Polynesian Party

Tonight was a stake activity and it was super legit. First there was Kahlua pork and J-Dawgs. Then, some Polynesian dancers performed for us and it was super awesome. Their hips don't lie. Also, I love the Haka. Also, I love brown men with no shirts on. Also, I'm strangely a little bit of a sucker for having one or two tattoos. Sue me. When I first heard there was going to be a dance afterwards, I could only hope it was akin to a stake dance from high school. It lived up to all my hopes and dreams. There were the awkward swing dancing people, awkward ballroom people, awkward conga line people, awkward picking off of friend groups one by one during slow dances, awkward dancing with people way taller than you so your arms hurt, and awkward avoiding that guy you really don't want to dance with. It was hilarious and an awesomely fun time. Basically, the whole night was a blast. I think this is a record amount of blogging from me. Hooray.

Lunch Money: I'm on YouTube

Here's a project I made for my technology class. Enjoy.

Baby Tori and Etc.

My sister had her baby and she is lovely (at least as lovely as a newborn can be). Her name is Tori (Victoria) and she's quite short and chunky.
Vampire Diaries is back. Oh Stefan, how I have missed thee and thy hot jawline.
School is kicking my butt. It seems like I'm never on top of everything I need to be.
Marci's 21st birthday party got shut down by the police. Apparently we were too noisy. What kind of college town is this when people complain at 11pm on a Friday night about noise?
BYU basketball is my new favorite part of life. We did lose to New Mexico which was very sad, but the Utah game is this weekend and we're going to kick trash.
Last Monday for FHE we went to my friend's orchard and made apple juice. Oh my gosh it is the most delicious thing. If you think you've had fresher or more pure apple juice, you haven't. It was a pretty neat process and we miraculously got the guys to do most of the grunt work. Everyone that went (11 people) took home a gallon of juice and then we got free apples. In celebration of apples I had a pie-making party the next night. We made 8 pies and had a grand old time. I also discovered that if you mention the word pie to your guy friends they will come over until all hours of the night after your bedtime and devour pie. It's alright though because I like them.
The Super Bowl is soon. I'm so so excited. Go Colts.

Websites I'm Addicted To

Hey guys, I don't have anything exciting to blog about so I thought I'd give you a list of some of the websites I'm loving lately.

S*$+ My Dad Says This is a twitter feed that a guy name Justin keeps up of the stuff his 74 year old father says. If you're not one to think swearing is funny from old people, don't go here.

Start Cooking I haven't explored much of this website, but I LOVE the videos. I may have, over two and a half days, watched every single video posted. There are some great tips as long as simple recipes and the videos are very short so they'll keep your attention span. Enjoy!

Mormon Bachelor Pad This anonymous confessions blog is hilarious. Two kind of (ok really) slutty Mormon guys write about their adventures with horizontal makeouts and all kinds of other scandalous for Mormon Utah adventures.

Graph Jam A sibling site to the FAIL blog, this website allows users to make hilarious graphs showing ridiculous things. I can't do it justice here, go check it out.

100 Hour Board Do you have a question? Have you searched and searched and can't find the answer? Ask the BYU 100 Hour Board! They answer (anonymously) any question you'll give them (usually in 100 hours). I've only seen a handful of responses where they are unable to find the answer to a particularly hard question, but these guys are reliable. They post questions daily (except Sundays) and they're usually really interesting to read! Caution: You'll probably want to avoid reading the relationship questions, those get so dramatic.

Bad Dreams and Nightmares

I have nightmares on a regular basis. Well, not nightmares actually, more bad dreams. Frequently they are just situations that are so stressful that my rest is not at all restful. I think I may have mentioned this problem before (as a matter of fact, I'm having some severe deja vu as I type this post, so sorry if I've said the same exact thing previously). The point of all this is I've decided to make a list for you, lovely readers, of the things that most often invade my bad dreams.

1. The inability to get somewhere on time.
2. Being trapped (by someone).
3. Finding myself in a dangerous situation and not being able to scream.
4. Being threatened with a gun.
5. Voldemort.

There are definitely all kinds of other things that choose to invade my mind during my supposedly restful hours. Now, you can go ahead and start making fun of me for number 5.
